The
event was sponsored by McCartan Turkington Breen – The cultural dance session
was performed and presented by Jagrita Bal
Club in Sindhupalchwok Distric, Nepal.
The
Sindhupalchwok District has faced natural disasters including floods and
landslides and because of the region’s geology it is prone to catastrophic earth
movements. Steep mountains and
narrow roads in the Sindhupalchok District drastically slow communications and
rescue packages when aid is needed but the area is rich in cultural diversity.
People are concerned for building awareness and conserving their culture and traditional dances.
