Portugal - Paula Cunha

It is very humbling to welcome yet another caring and talented person into A Ray of Hope. Paula lives in Portugal and has a particular forte for the design and production of videos. Some of her many videos can be seen on A Ray of Hope's web at http://www.unesco.8m.com/Paula/index.htm

Our numbers expand daily, as do the specialists willing to give of their knowledge, skills and experience. Paula, I am convinced will be a wonderful asset to the whole. Not only will she develop A Ray of hope's video library but will encourage and support others. Paula like the many incredible people associated with our projects believes whole heartedly that cultural diversity is enrichment. A Ray of Hope is greater than the sum of its parts. Thank you Paula.

A Ray of Hope is not a charity and we try as far as possible never to assist in currency form, but rather prefer to investigate what people, especially children, need throughout the world and to deliver that item directly into their hands. This avoids many of the pitfalls that exist in the world of giving.
We believe that diversity of culture is enrichment and actively look for and promote friendships ..... if we can assist our friends we do.We have little difficulty in obtaining certain educational supplies and to date have distributed over $9 million worth. Some of the smaller items, although easily purchased, we feel it is to the benefit of everyone that those who wish can assist us and in doing so know that they have helped directly.
No member of A Ray of Hope receives financial gain of any kind but the true satisfaction of knowing that, at very least, we are attempting to make a difference.

We have had a request to inform readers how they can become involved in a Ray of Hope. Anyone who believes cultural diversity is enrichment, enjoys making friends and assisting when one can is welcome to contribute to our work. There is rarely a need to ask for financial support except possibly within the bounds of individual projects. Feel free to contact me on don@unesco.co.uk.
