Philippines - Melanie's first contact home.

Here are the pictures.of the children at Philippine Outreach Center,in Subic.
The Center has been going for 25 years, and is the work of Manchester born Crissy Perillo ,and her neice Rachael, with their husbands, and family.
We have visited a prison, which Crissy has been visiting for 20 years.
I could hardly believe my eyes, when I saw the women in cages, within a small yard enclosure. There were 50 women in each of these cages, some pregnant, and some with babies. Three cages held 50 women each. We took in toiletries, pens, and boks. We had an opportunity to sing with them, and spend time sharing about their life in the cage. Crissy and Rachel look after the babies born to the Mothers in the prison. Today they have 30 boys, and 28 girls, and 2 brandnew babies. Some of the Mothers have not been tried for their offences, and already they are in for 10 years, and 15 years with out their case coming to trial.
The Philippines, don t have a judicial system, only a Judge. Yesterday I had chance o speak and encourage over 500 men in a prison.Im crying at the poverty, and the injustice, but also enjoying the people.
